Rumors: Browns May Have Interest In Trading For Desean Jackson

There is a rumor being reported that the Browns may be among the teams interested in trading for Eagles WR Desean Jackson.  Jackson has been highly productive with the Eagles, but his high cap number ($10.5 million dollars in 2014) has the Eagles open to trade offers. They are rumored to one at least a 3rd round draft pick in exchange for Jackson.

  1. I love Deshaun as a player for the Eagles. I think he’s a great playmaker. I dont want him in Cleveland. He’s drama, he’s gonna want a boat load of money soon. Why trade assests to get ourselves into that mess when you can get a very good #2 reciever in this years draft. Whats wrong with Watkins as a #2? You get nearly the same speed/playmaking ability and a better contract situation for a growing team. Taking Watkins is debateble at #4 ofc considering we have other needs. I think there’s gonna be some good WR talent left in the 3rd round of the draft to add depth to our WR unit. No to Jackson in Cleveland.

    • Excuse me.. But what drama? Never been arrested. Never killed anyone. Never beaten a woman. All people have these issues with him because he’s not the same old boring guy… He has a personality. (Like Manziel). And why would he want more money? He’s got 3 more years on his deal for 10 million per. No one will pay him more so I don’t see him asking for more. And Watkins at 4 is an absolute horrible pick. He has a route tree of about 4 routes, and runs way to stiff. And he’s isn’t going to be a Megatron, or Flash Gordon, or Aj Green. Those are the only recievers worthy of taking top 5. Maybe if we had a QB and were a piece or 2 away, but we’ve got no one to throw him him the ball, and when someone like Manziel is available, it’s a much better pick for this team. And reportedly, the eagles would be asking for a 3rd rounder. Why take a chance on a reciever in the 3rd, when you can get a proven pro bowler for the same pick?

        • And why is that? Tell me what is so bad about Manziel? Don’t say “He could get hurt” because trying to predict someone is going to get injured is idiotic. No one knows how his body will react until he plays. Don’t say he’s a me first guy either or has a bad attitude because he doesn’t. Never been arrested. People honestly hate him before they even see him because he has a personality. And the only other thing is he’s shorter. That could be a concern, but plenty of QBs have side around the size of 6″.

          • Manziel is a hack…. He has no pocket presence, he has no vision. The pocket collapses and he runs… That wont cut it in the NFL. Now, tell me what is so good about him? And don’t say he is a winner.. cause all NFL’ers were winners at one point. And just cause he is great one the field with 1 or 2 NFL level athletes doesn’t mean he will do a damn thing when the field is full of them. No one with a head on there shoulders is taking Manziel that high.

            • Ah. He’s a “hack”. Wonderful response. It’s safe to say you know nothing about football with responses like these. Has no pocket awareness, really? In all of the AQ conferences, he completed the best percentage of his passes from the pocket, 73%. Not only that, his mobility in the pocket is outstanding. He can escape the rush inside the pocket, and then move outside the pocket and find a reciever on the sideline with great accuracy. Just because he moves in the pocket, doesn’t mean he had bad pocket awareness. Not to mention being able to throw from the pocket. Vision? He completed 48% of his passes 25 yards or longer. In the top 10 of AQ conferences. Not only that, he’s accurate and has a good arm. And I’m not going to say he’s a winner, but he is a leader. You idiots can complain about his personality, but face it, he gets his guys to play hard and motivated, and lead his team to wins with no semblance of a defense. The Browns need a leader as a QB. And no ones taking Manziel that high? Lol. Look. I know for dolts like you, ESPN is your lifeline. But please. Just because you don’t like the kid, don’t just take on opinions from the likes of Jaws or Meril Hoge who are just talking heads. Next time, try to bring something relevant to the conversation.

              • Yeah… Because you know better then all the experts. People who are paid for their opinions. People who actually played in the NFL. Give me one reason why your opinion matters in the least? The fact that you think Manziel should be taken with the 4th pick shows YOU have no clue about football. Like I said. just because he is good in college doesn’t mean he will transition to the NFL. The fact that you are so sure he will proves that you have a man crush. You are a nobody… the fact that you refer to anyone else as an idiot is laughable.. Johnny won’t see the kind of pockets he got at A+M and he wont get the protection. Not to mention.. its not hard to be a rock star QB in college with a WR with a wingspan like Evans… You sure seem mad…. are you like 12? No one has called you a name but you have tried to offend everyone who doesn’t agree with you. Grow up

            • Experts? Jaws is the same guy who said Brandon weeden was going to have a breakout year. The same guy who said Kaepernick could be the greatest football quarterback of all time after 7 starts. People like him, Merril and Mel Kiper are CONSISTENTLY wrong. kiper said If jimmy clausen isn’t a great QB, he’ll quit. Jimmy clausen turned out great right? ESPN hires people to spout ignorant outlandish opinions, and then has their other ignorant analysts like skip Bayless debate them all day. The fact your pea-sized brain can’t recognize this is sad really. And johnny won’t see the protection he saw at A&M… If you actually read what I said, you’d realize he doesn’t need an amazing line to succeed. You can get angry all you want, but facts are I layed out the truth about what johnny did at A&M, with stats to back it up. You on the other hand, are making up every excuse in the book as to why he won’t succeed. First you said he can’t throw from the pocket. I clearly proves you wrong. Then you say he has no vision. Again, with stats I proved you wrong. Now you say it’s all because of Mike Evans? If what you said had any merit, people like Fran tarkenton, and Aaron Rodgers wouldn’t be backing Manziel. And idk about you, but I trust 2 HoF Qbs opinions over a mediocre QB with a bad track record of talking about people, and a former fullback. And I don’t care if some clown who obviously doesn’t know football believes me. I got stats, you have regurgitated garbage from notorious morons. And no I don’t got a man crush. I simply can see he will succeed in the the NFL, and dongm hate him for his personality. And one last thing. I never said “just because he succeeded in college, he will succeed in the NFL”. I brought up that most star QBs have, that he has displayed week after week in the closest thing to the NFL he could be do. I honestly don’t understand how some people like you can be so dumb.

              • Your arrogance is amazing. The only thing you said that I agree with is that Kiper is wrong… Hate that fool. Every expert has missed on a prospect or been wrong. I am sure you have too… But no one pays you for your opinion.. I wonder why…. All you proved was that your boy Johnny Fagball benefited a ton from his stud receiver. Most of his pocket passing was just toss ups.. His stats were inflated by his receiver… Troy Smith had stud numbers and were did he end up.. so did Vince young, Jamarcus Russel, and Matt Lienart. You don’t have a crystal ball.. All you proved is the kid was a good college player.. You’re just mad cause your Man crush isn’t getting the love you want.. Your stats don’t mean anything.. NFL is a different beast all together. so go on.. insult all the people who disagree with you. (which is basically everyone) You keep forgetting there isn’t 11 NFL caliber players on the field in college. And just so you can stop.. I don’t give a shit about his attitude. O yeah… Tim Tebow was a great leader too…. Dumb.. Oh i know exactly why people like you are so dumb… Its cause your head is up your ass… Get over your man crush.. grow up and stop looking threw BJ colored glasses… OMG… seriously.. have you even watched any film on the kid… god.. you’re an idiot.

            • Johnny fagball. Lol that’s hilariously unoriginal. LOL. You’re now comparing Manziel to Matt Lineart and Troy Smith? Oh Jesus. The things people say to try and prove a point. there is not a comparison in the world between those other then the fact they were successful in college. By that logic, you could say RG3 only succeeded in college because he had great recievers. Man I really feel bad that you’re this retarded. People wouldn’t have Manziel ranked as the 2nd best QB if he was “carried by recievers”. And ah. Your idiocy is showing again sir. He only completed passes from the pocket because he throws jump balls. Now again, I know you say this because you’re a retard who gets his info from ESPN, and sees highlights where he has thrown a jumpball that Evans came down with. The thing is, most of his passes are in stride to the reciever, not jumpballs. And if you knew anything at all about football, you’d know in certain situations, you are supposed to give your reciever a chance, when he’s 6’5 vs a 5’11 corner. Again, you wouldn’t know that though because you listen to Jaws as your expert testimony. Lol. And ok. So you’re saying, because he played in the best football conference which only averages two players on defense, he is I’ll prepared for the NFL. Alright, so what about players like teddy bridgewater?or Bortles? Players who play in scrub conferences? They must have no chance because they played against no NFL talent? You’re a goddamn idiot. And I’m not even going to address the Tebow comparison. It’s so stupid. Tebow may have been a leader, but he can’t throw a spiral. Manziel has a great arm and a leader is one of his many qualities.” Do you even watch film” it’s clear the only film you’ve seen are the two minute highlights they show on sports center. Look it’s clear you have no idea what you’re talking about and are so retarded you’ll make up dumb excuses . Oh and one last thing. A lotta people agrees with me. Brett farve. Aaron Rodgers. Fran tarkenton. HoFers . Not just a scrub like you, who hates people because they’re infinitely more successful than you at life at probably have your age. I’m done replying to you’re stupid ass, nice try though. Maybe, you should try to find something to back up your claim; stats maybe? Instead of your own worthless opinion.

In stride Ha.. Not jump balls Ha… Most accurate passer was is Bridgewater.. Not Manziel.. Grow up man. Just like RB’s can’t dance around like they can in college.. QB’s can’t play like that in the NFL… Can’t wait to rub this all in your smug face… But I bet in two years you will be whining about how he never got a chance…. Pathetic.. both you and him

            • If you think the prior stats I’ve thrown out don’t mean anything then clearly you either can’t read, are retarded, or are just so hell bent on wanting him to fail you’ll deny anything. And I guarantee you haven’t watched half the throws he’s made in college, because 1: you don’t watch take because you’re an idiot, 2: if you did, you wouldn’t make such wildly off base claims. You don’t know anything about the game, and are some kid who trys to talk football and are so stupid it’s almost pathetic. Top 10 in every major passing stat. But then you’ll generalize it by saying “every QB is top 10 in those stats”. When A: they’re not
B: if that were true, you’d be saying how they play in college doesn’t matter. Stats don’t necessarily matter, but if you had any ounce of reasoning you’d see they show he possess all the necessarily skill to succeed. And all I use is opinion… lol . If multiple stats that prove my point is opinion…give me ONE stat or ANYTHING to support ONE of your claims. JUST ONE. And don’t just say.. “I’ve watched tape” no you didn’t. You don’t do anything football related because you’re obviously dyexic. “I can’t wait to rub it in your face” Jesus Christ you have no life at all do you? I swear, I am so glad people like you’s only outlet is the internet and you’ll never have an real power in life. Trying to say Manziel was carried by one WR is so pathetic. Someone who obviously has a deep seeded hatred for a college kid… Maybe he bullied you in highschool?

              • What have you said to back up your comments… you are projecting stats from a COLLEGE game to a PROFESSIONAL game… That are inflated at best. Like I have said from the beginning he is a good player in college but what he does.. how he plays wont work in the NFL. Kid has no patience.. has no vision.. chooses to run when he can throw.. those are all proven facts.. just by watching his games… He constantly chooses to run when he could throw… which is not what you want your little QB to do. But you’re going to sit there and tell me.. you would rather your QB run then.. say… throwing to the guy who’s job it is to catch and run with the ball…yeah you’re an incredible football mind… You are just that guy.. with a man crush for the kid who does cool tricks… get over yourself. I bet the kid wont even go in the first round. He is going to be just like that running back I mentioned earlier… going to try his dancing around and get smeared. And when he has to step up in the pocket to make a throw and take a hit from say… Ndamukong Suh… he is going to be in trouble.. But yeah.. you have it all figured out. We are all the Dolts.. have you noticed.. what you call “dolts” seem to populate all the websites and all the bogs and all the TV stations. But yeah.. You see what 98% of the other people don’t.. sit down and watch his games.. and look at all the open receivers when he runs around.. guys he is missing.. cause he has given up on the plays. Who cares about when stuff goes right for you in college.. its when it goes wrong that matters… When the shit hits the fan.. the kids QB skills go out the window. But yeah yeah.. I know.. I’m wrong and a idiot or dolt or whatever else word you try to use to insult my intelligence.. I get it.. See you back here after the draft… We can talk then son.

                • What you say would make sense if he played in the ACC or Big 10, conferences that have no talent. And what you say would make sense if the crux of my argument was that he played in a great conference. But its not. you make off basis claims like his stats are inflated. how? He played in the best conference against the best talent, and with a raw reciever who would be a 1st round pick due unless Manziel was his QB. He did choose to run his first year, but his second year he cut his carries in half. Again, youre just repeating what Jaws said, and its clear you have no opinion other then what he has to say. and please. he wont be a first round pick? Except for Jaws and Hoge. EVERY mock draft has Manziel as a top 10 first round pick. But yet you say 90% of people agree with you. Not so clown. All you say is he dances around, when his passing accumen clearly proves you wrong. Its clear to people like Mike Mayock, who many NFL teams trust, he has a good arm, good accuracy, and great pocket prescence. He can avoid the rush in the pocket, and complete a pass down the field. Bu’t you ignore the facts. I can’t wait for him to succeed and see idiots try and rationale out how they thought he was good aswell. Ill take Manziel, you can have Hoyer,Carr, or Bridgewater and we’ll see how far you get. And youve just ruined every argument youve used. “when shit its the fan”. Thats when he succeeds the most. when plays are broken and he has to make a play. You’re a joke. Next.

        • Ok..? That’s fine but you can be wrong all you want. I don’t remember seeing your mock drafts, but if you have them taking Watkins and see him as a great solution to the Browns there’s you have no business questioning Manziel.

  3. God, I hope this is false. I cannot stand his attitude. He is extremely selfish and does not put team first. I also do not think he has a great work ethic. I doubt he would wanna restructure his contract to play in Cleveland… no chance I would pay $10.5M for him.

Making this trade would ruin FA for me.
