Ben Tate Woos Browns Fans

It took three days of quite and waiting for the world to hear whether or not Ben Tate would become a Cleveland Brown or not. In that time, it seems that the world stored up some positive energy and yesterday’s signing just let it loose. DPN is here to walk you through the reactions to Ben Tate signing with the Browns.

First, the final night before Tate signed with the Browns, speculation was that he had already left town. DPN was one of a handful of sources still reporting that Tate was around. Tate confirmed this himself, by tweeting a picture of the Terminal Tower.

The amount of interaction Tate gave out on social media throughout this process is actually pretty cool. Here’s Tate signing his deal with the Browns:

And here’s Ben checking out a Browns helmet:

Ben came out swinging for the fences with relation to being a fan favorite, first tweeting out this picture of him rocking a Browns hat:

Then one with all the Cleveland Sports teams, captioned that he’s an Indians and Cavs Fan now too:

In a lot of other cities, this probably wouldn’t matter as much, but in Cleveland, it does. We go all in on our fandom, and we want our players all in on our city.

Tate spent most of the evening talking with Browns fans on Twitter. Here are some cool ones:

  1. I’m thrilled about Tate. He’s acting like he wants to be here. However I’m not running out to buy his jersey or any Browns jersey. Players don’t last around here long enough to warrant buying one sad to say.
