The rumors on the level of interest that the Cleveland Browns have in New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman have started to pick up steam once again. Edelman has been a rumored target of the Browns to replace recently cut, much maligned wide receiver Davone Bess from the beginning of the free agency period.
Edelman led the Patriots in receptions last season, totaling 105 catches for 1,056 yards and six touchdowns. He has also worked with Browns Quarterback Brian Hoyer during his time in New England.
It’s easy to see why the Browns would have an interest in Edelman. He’s considered a reliable receiver, something the Browns seriously lacked opposite Josh Gordon last season. Being able to open up defenses more would allow Gordon and Cameron to exploit mismatches in coverage.
More to come as this develops.
